Unni Boksasp Ensemble

View video

Unni Boksasp Ensemble is famous for playing everything from up-beat party songs to melancholic tunes. When the ensemble is on stage with its swinging rhythms and playful texts, there is always lively on the dance floor. But there's also room for more sentimental moments. The ensemble plays new as well as old Norwegian folk music, often with roots in central Norway, but also rooted in other places - and newly written songs. To Opus 72017 they have taken on the legacy after norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and hardanger fiddler Knut Dahle - an almost "sacred" material that virtually no ensembles have worked with earlier. Unni Boksasp Ensemble has received both the Spellmann and Folkelarm awards for its releases.
