Born and brought up in the Shetland Islands, Chris Stout has, over the last few years, become nationally and internationally recognised as one of the most exciting and dynamic fiddle players and composers of his generation. He studied classical violin at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, but has probably spent as much time learning from prominent Shetland fiddlers. Stouts background from both classical and traditional music has lead to collaborations with musicians from all over the world, most known is perhaps the duo with Catriona McKay and the Shetland band Fiddlers Bid.
