The Trondheim Symphony Orchestra’s Thursday concert has become an annual highlight of the festival. The first half gives us Prokofiev’s magnificent Symphony No. 1 and Mozart’s bassoon concerto with the solo bassoonist of the Vienna Philharmonic.
The second half is dedicated to Silvestrov. His short Symphony No. 7 is frequently performed and shows why he is considered one of today’s most important composers.
