Alpaca Ensemble is a flexible ensemble of different size and composition, with a core consisting of Else Bø (piano), Sigrid Elisabeth Stang (violin) and Marianne Baudouin Lie (cello). Alpaca initiates both large and small innovative projects within genre-breaking contemporary music, and develops a repertoire across established art forms.

Major projects in 2012 include “Mekatonia”, a magnificent outdoor musical theater in collaboration with Cirka theater. The performance opened the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival 2012 with several thousand spectators, and involved 32 people both on and behind the stage. The project received rave reviews in both the local and international press, as in Gramophone Magazine and was repeated at Kamfest 2014.

Alpaca Ensemble were Sør-Trøndelag's county artists in 2013.
