Internationally-renowned Swedish soprano Miah Persson has worked all over the world as concert artist and recitalist, as well as on the operatic stage. Throughout her distinguished career, Miah has performed several of the most famous roles of operatic history, among them Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte in some of the world’s greatest opera houses such as The Metropolitan Opera, New York, and La Scala, Milano. She’s had several performances at the world’s greatest classical concert series, The Proms in Wigmore Hall, London, where she has sung both Brahm’s Requiem and Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 (and Fiordiligi!). Persson has done several recordings, both with symphony orchestras and with Joseph Breinl, who visited the festival in 2017.

In addition to the classical repertoire, Persson is also performing contemporary music. She has the lead role in festival composer Van der Aas multimediary opera Blank Out, which is having it’s first Scandinavian performance in Olavshallen during the festival. In this opera, Persson is double performing on stage – both live and in the 3D movie that is projected on stage as a part of the performance.
