Katrine Øigaard Sonstad has enjoyed a varied and exciting career as a freelance musician for almost twenty years. In recent years she has focused on chamber music. Øigaard Sonstad is - in addition to her place in DiamantEnsemblet - solo double bass player in the Det norske kammerorkester (the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra) and Danmarks Underholdningsorkester. She regularly plays with various ensembles and chamber orchestras in the Nordic region and has also performed with many internationally prominent musicians at a large number of chamber music festivals.
